Vital signs for your company are reviewed on a monthly basis. The vital signs are likely on performance to expectations.
If vital signs for us personally are out of line to expectations, they are addressed. The same is true for a company. Monthly reviews highlight vital signs that are or are not to expectations. Corrective action steps are defined with monitoring and a feedback loop.
Vital signs while important are limited and why screenings are the next layer. The purpose of screenings is to identify any hidden condition. Screenings don’t assume a condition exists but done to detect potential health disorders before symptoms appear. This allows for timely management and better health outcomes.
Your company’s vital signs or monthly reviews are done regularly. The company’s structure is where all the inputs, outputs, decisions, and communications flow to produce the results that are reviewed regularly. However, I expect that your company structure has never been screened. No company that I have worked with had its structure screened.
Think of your company structure like your skeleton. Our skeleton allows movement and supports life. One hidden condition in your skeleton over time can cause temporary or a permanent disorder. Early detection allows time for better outcomes. The same is true for your company’s structure – any hidden condition that goes undetected adds greater risk to the company’s planned expectations.
If we personally ignore recommended screenings when we are apparently healthy, then, we are at risk for any condition that remains hidden before symptoms appear. In light of the industrial revolution underway in SI/AI, robotics, advanced manufacturing, nuclear energy, fusion, space exploration, orbital infrastructure, semiconductors and workforce capabilities – going forward with your current structure – ask, is it capable of supporting the changes taking place now?
Vital signs and screenings are important for us personally.
Your company already reviews its vital signs on a regular basis. However, the screening process may not be a standard practice. For this reason, I am developing content for a blog series to introduce screenings for companies.
Additional blogs coming.
