Built to Last

The Built to Last Assessment is based on the principles identified in Jim Collins’ Built to Last. Using both assessment and interview tools, it examines whether the characteristics associated with enduring organizations are reflected throughout the company.

The assessment explores how purpose, culture, leadership continuity, alignment, discipline, innovation, and other enduring characteristics are experienced in practice.

The objective is not to determine whether a company is “built to last.” Rather, it develops a more comprehensive understanding of the conditions associated with institutional endurance and how those conditions are reflected in the company’s structures, systems, decisions, behaviors, and day-to-day operations.

Together, the assessment and interview tools provide leadership with quantitative and qualitative perspectives regarding the company’s conditions for institutional endurance. While both tools examine the same principles, differences in findings may emerge. These differences provide additional insight and may warrant further examination.
